Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I see my primary care provider (PCP)
Everyone should see their primary care provider (PCP) at least once a year. If you have chronic illnesses, then it may be necessary to visit more often.
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
Please bring your photo ID and your insurance card (if you have insurance). It can be helpful to bring all the medications you take, or a list with the name of each medication you take and the dosage instructions (how much and how often you take it).
What do I need to be prepared to discuss?
You should be prepared to discuss any current health concerns or changes in health status, including symptoms you may be feeling, how long you’ve been feeling them and what makes them better or worse. You should also be prepared to let the team know what medications you’re taking. And if you have any health goals, you’ll want to share those too.
What if I don’t speak English?
Many of our staff speak Spanish. For patients who speak any other languages, Venice Family Clinic offers telephone interpretation services.
Do I need insurance to receive care at Venice Family Clinic?
We see all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. If you are uninsured, we offer a Sliding Fee Discount Program and can often help connect you with programs that make care more affordable.
Do you provide vaccines?
Venice Family Clinic provides vaccines for children and adults according to your age and health needs. We follow established guidelines from the CDC and other public health authorities to make sure you stay safe and protected.
Will I always see the same clinician?
We will assign you to one PCP and schedule your appointments with them whenever possible. If your PCP is unavailable or you need urgent care, another PCP may see you.
